Vegetable Growing, Ideas and Advice with Barry Newman

Following his popular talk on Vegetables last March, Barry joins us again to offer ideas and advice on growing vegetables for keen gardeners at all levels. He is a well-known UK horticultural expert, lecturer and judge specialising in vegetable growing and his informative and humorous talks cover techniques for maximising space, choosing varieties and preparing produce for competitions. Barry is a member of the RHS Fruit, Vegetable and Herb Committee, and a former chairman of the National Vegetable Society.
Guests are welcome for a small fee of £2.00

Dear Committee,
Thank you so much for arranging for last night's talk by Barry Newman. It was so full of good ideas and tips, that I was sorry I had not brought a notebook and pen with me. I mentioned to our Chairman, that it would be nice if the committee could compile a list of some of the brilliant ideas for our newsletter, or ask Members to send in those that they thought particularly useful, I know Barry offered some sheets of paper with ideas on, but during the course of the talk he offered many others.
I am at that stage of life when one cannot remember, and in this case I had no chance of keeping up…
