In Memoriam, Mark Sugden

It is with great sadness we report the death of Mark Sugden on Monday 19th May after a struggle with cancer.  Mark was a CGS committee member for many years whose input and advice were always helpful, insightful and often amusing. He was a keen gardener, his roses frequently winning prizes in the village flower show, and an active and enthusiastic member of our Society.

After his return from Switzerland in 2010, where he worked for an international company, he settled in Claygate, dedicating much of his time to public service. He was a trustee of Claygate Village Association, a Parish Councillor and, most recently, Surrey County Councillor for Claygate. He will be greatly missed.
