About the event
Barry Newman is a well-known UK horticultural expert, lecturer, and judge specialising in vegetable growing. His talks are known for being informative and humorous, covering techniques for maximising space, choosing varieties, and preparing produce for competitions, making him a popular speaker for enthusiastic gardeners of all levels. Barry is a member of the RHS Fruit, Vegetable and Herb Committee, and the former Chairman of the National Vegetable Society (NVS).
Barry Newman will offer ideas and advice on growing vegetables.
This event is free to everyone with full CGS membership. Please bring your membership card for 2026. You will also be able to renew at the event.
Guests are most welcome to join us for the evening for a small fee of £2.00.
