On Wednesday, 8th May, Susy Dixon-Jones, Elmbridge Borough Council's Countryside Ranger, will lead a group of CGS members on a walk around Arbrook Common. She will address various topics including the history of the woods, former activities and maintenance, wildlife, types of trees and current objectives for their management. Apart from her educational responsibilities, Susy manages teams of volunteers doing woodland management twice a week throughout Elmbridge. Anyone interested (fit and able-bodied) can join in!
The walk will start at 2.00pm on 8th May at the car park at the top of Arbrook Lane. It can be a bit muddy there if wet so please use appropriate footwear. We will keep a "weather watch" and if heavy rain is forecast will post a note concerning cancelation. Otherwise, see you there!
